Validation of World Bank Project with World Vision Australia.

The purpose of this project is to validate the impact of FMNR Project through initial detection of tree cover increase Humbo and Sodo to investigate if the change was a result of the project activities or just a natural course.

Humbo has had a success as natural regeneration project of degraded land and so is Sodo both in FMNR. We initially investigated the tree cover change between 2006 and 2018 in our algorithm design in Humbo and identified significant increase in tree cover by an average of 6%.

This next activity was to access the performance of the carbon algorithm in comparison to results obtained in Humbo. We mapped the change in tree cover and Land Use then applied our algorithm to quantify the carbon accumulation in a duration of 12 years.
