Solar Energy

We are local developers of solar energy projects in rural Africa. Our aim is to implement innovative solutions for providing electricity to local institutions and rural communities in decentralized areas. In this regard, we develop solar power plants that enhance social capital building through access to reliable power.

Our beneficiaries include institutions and organisations that need a steady and affordable access to electricity and heat such as hospitals, schools, small enterprises and local institutions. These groups of beneficiaries have all experienced previously intermittent power outages from the national grid. These inconveniences prevent them from conducting their activities. As local developers, we bring concrete solutions to populations in marginalized areas.

Ecological sustainability
The ecological benefits of solar energy projects are multifold and resolve many environmental challenges in rural communities. The degree of UV radiations is sufficient in most regions in Africa to power households and local institutions at a large scale.
Economic development
These projects boost economic performance in marginalised areas. Small enterprises and Telco companies are provided with a steady and affordable access to electricity which contributes to sustainable economic development and improved living conditions.
Optimization on social capital
The marginalised communities considerably benefit from solar energy projects by getting a steady and affordable access to power that guarantees good healthcare, improved learning conditions or increased income per capita.
Women empowerment
Solar energy gives a steady access which generates women empowerment. Women do not have to transport firewood on kilometers everyday and this leads them to practice other income generating activities such as farming.

What we offer

1. Energy assessment: we analyse on-site your energy demand and establish your needs in terms of energy for electricity.

2. Economic viability: we design a bankable business model through investigating various technology capital and operational costs to obtain the optimal cash flows.

3. Solar energy systems suitability: we determine which solar energy systems (solar panels, LED lights…) you need and the power that they should produce.

4. Technology installation: we order solar systems from our providers and manage the installation including the grid infrastructure.

5. Fundraising: We seek financial support for the project implementation.

Our current projects

We are currently developing solar energy projects in Kendu Adventist Hospital (Kendu Bay, Kenya) and Kenyatta University (Nairobi, Kenya).

Kendu Adventist Hospital, Homa Bay County, Kenya

Kendu Adventist Hospital, Homa Bay County, Kenya

REGID International is developing a solar energy project for the Kendu Adventist Hospital in Homa Bay County, Kenya. The solar energy will come as a complementary source of energy in order to ensure a constant access to electricity and heat within the hospital’s premises. This project will also help offset the expensive energy bills thereby reducing the hospital overhead costs.

Kenyatta University, Nairobi, Kenya

Kenyatta University, Nairobi, Kenya

REGID International is developing a solar energy project for Kenyatta University in Nairobi, Kenya. The solar energy will come as a complementary source of energy in order to ensure a constant access to electricity within the university’s premises. This project will also help offset the expensive energy bills thereby reducing the university overhead costs.
